Network Consultant/Designer - Hybrid (England/USA) - £500-£550 pd

We are seeking a highly skilled 4G Network Expert with specialized expertise in the Radio Access Network (RAN) and the interface between RAN and Evolved Packet Core (EPC) in 4G networks. The ideal candidate will have comprehensive knowledge of 4G RAN protocol stacks, interfaces with eNodeB, Mobility Management, and Radio resource management.

Must have:

1. In depth knowledge of 4G RAN protocol stack and flows between eg RRC, PDCP, RLC, MAC and PHY.
2. In depth knowledge of interfaces, protocols and flows between 4G Core and eNodeB.
3. Knowledge of Mobility Management (MME) and HSS (Home Subscriber Server) in 4G Core.
4. Knowledge of Radio resource scheduling and management.
5. Technical Architecture and design.

Essential Knowledge:

• Understanding of Internal Functionality
• Design and Detailed understanding of the protocol and flows of Ground RAN and Core Network.
• Architecture and Design experience of building/adapting the product.
• RAN experience/use withing a commercial project.
• Consulting experience.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Familiarity with NB-IoT technologies.
• Understanding of 4G Core architecture and functionalities.
• Basic knowledge of 5G networks and Open Radio Access Network (O-RAN) concepts.
• Familiarity with Satellite Communications concepts and Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN).

Skills and Competencies:

• Technical Analysis- Ability to analyze complex network issues and provide effective solutions.
• Technical Architecture- Proficient in designing and implementing network architectures.
• Telecommunications- Strong understanding of telecommunications principles and practices.
• 5G- Basic understanding of 5G technologies and their integration with 4G networks.
• Satellite Communications- Knowledge of satellite communication concepts and their role in network connectivity.
