Job Summary:

Must be senior 12+yrs of total IT experience.

We are looking for an experienced Azure API Management Lead to spearhead the implementation of Azure API Management services in our organization. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in deploying Azure API Management for both internal and external APIs, with a strong emphasis on practical implementation, security, and best practices. This role demands expertise in configuring various types of APIs in Azure APIM, setting up authentication/authorization, establishing policies and governance, managing CI/CD for API deployment, customizing the Developer Portal, and proficiency in using Terraform for infrastructure deployment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Hands-On Azure API Management Implementation:

Lead the hands-on implementation and configuration of Azure API Management services.

Ensure robust, secure, and scalable API management solutions that align with enterprise-level requirements.

2. API Configuration and Setup:

Configure RESTful, SOAP, and GraphQL APIs within Azure APIM.

Implement effective authentication and authorization mechanisms for API security.

3. Policy and Governance Establishment:

Develop and enforce API policies to control access, rate limits, and operational protocols.

Define and uphold governance standards for API usage and management.

4. CI/CD Pipeline Management:

Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for API deployment and life cycle management.

Leverage Terraform for infrastructure as code to automate and streamline API management deployments.

5. Developer Portal Customization:

Customize and manage the Azure API Management Developer Portal to enhance developer engagement and experience.

Ensure the portal provides comprehensive and user-friendly API documentation.

6. Monitoring and Analytics:

Implement monitoring solutions for API performance and usage tracking.

Analyze API metrics to inform and guide strategic decisions.

7. Collaboration and Team Management:

Collaborate with development, security, and operations teams to ensure a cohesive approach to API management.

Mentor team members and provide guidance on Azure API Management best practices and solutions.

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.

Extensive hands-on experience in Azure API Management service deployment and management.

Deep understanding of API configuration, including security protocols and gateway functionality.

Proficient in using Terraform for deploying infrastructure.

Experienced in CI/CD practices and tools.

Azure or other relevant certifications.

Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.

Effective communication and team management abilities.

Familiarity with monitoring tools and analytics in Azure.
