ICT Technician (Contract)

3-month contract
£20-£25 per hour (inside IR35)

Five days a week on-site

Our client is a school academy that needs to hire an ICT Technician to provide IT support to the user community. Your role will be to provide technical support across two schools.

As an ICT Technician, you will provide a high standard of technical support and ICT service delivery to client schools through various channels and be the first point of contact for all ICT issues for pupils and staff. You will also support the monitoring, evaluation, and continuous review of the quality and effectiveness of ICT operations within the School.

During your first few weeks in this ICT Support role, you can expect to take on some of the following:

  • Develop and maintain all of the school's ICT systems to ensure maximum availability, access, and efficiency
  • Work with the ICT Operations Manager to ensure the network is operational during agreed access hours and resolve failure problems
  • Carry out routine and ad hoc device management tasks, including regular proactive checks of hardware, monitoring of software installations for 100% compliance, and ensuring all peripherals are in working order
  • Manage the schools' backup systems and ensure backups are executed successfully
  • Maintain ICT records in the Every system and produce monthly reports for management

To apply for this ICT Technician position, your soft skills, expertise, and experience should include:

  • Pass an enhanced DBS check
  • Ability to support and instruct pupils and staff in the use of the network, Internet, and software
  • Proficiency with ICT service delivery and a detailed understanding of the Trust ICT Helpdesk processes
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

You are likely to have a range of IT support skills covering Windows OS, O365, IT networking and IT security
