Big Data Developer - Spark, Spark ETL, Python - Hedge Fund - £750/day (Contract)

There is a role with a major global Hedge Fund in Mayfair, looking for a Big Data Developer to join their Enterprise Data team.

The Fund are building a new Data Lake in S3, AWS and Big Data technology and will eventually migrate their existing data warehouse environment into the new platform.

They are looking for a Big Data Developer with experience in Spark programming, Spark ETL, Python and PySpark, to build data pipelines from the ground up. This includes building pipelines and feeds from scratch, aswell as solutions to handle large data volumes from business-critical trading groups.

This is a high-profile role with lots of scope, working across a greenfield, business-critical project

You must have the following skills and experience to be considered

  • Extensive experience in Big Data Development/Big Data Platform Engineering
  • Strong background in Spark, specifically for ETL and streaming data
  • Commercial experience coding in Python
  • PySpark
  • Kafka is preferred but not essential

Rate is negotiable up to £750/day Inside IR35, working 5 days per week onsite.
